What's the most important thing?
I promise you, a shorter post
“Not another fucking War and Peace!” Shouted a reader. Not just one reader. All of them. OK, maybe ten. “Wasn’t one epic enough!”
“I’m going to keep this one short,” I promised.
“You’d better,” said some readers.
“Stop adding words,” I said.
The most important thing
The most important thing is paying attention to the most important thing.
“Is this some of your meta meta crap?” Asks a reader. Probably Mira. But maybe you.
“Sort of, but not really,” I say, cryptically.
If you (meaning me) are not paying attention to the most important thing as the most important thing then it’s not the most important thing anymore. It’s just “The thing I am doing.”
Like this blog post.
The most important thing right now is paying attention to finishing it AND PUBLISHING IT while I am writing it.
The most important thing is being aware of anything that replaces paying attention to the most important thing,
Anything.
“Got it,” says a reader. “Now are you going to say the same fucking thing two dozen times in three hundred different ways?”
“No,” I say. “I’m generating an image and publishing.”
“Thank God!” says a reader.
“You’re welcome,” says God.1
Or comment. Whatever.
Note: this God is not “The God I don’t believe in.” This God is just a rhetorical device that I’m using. A kind of stylistic flourish.
Metanote: this is a footnote, so “Note:” is redundant.

You stuck the landing! Thanks for sharing.
So, by "I'm generating an image..." do you mean you're telling ChatGPT what you want? https://open.substack.com/pub/70yearswtf/p/how-to-talk-with-an-llm-context?r=49zsgq&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&showWelcomeOnShare=false
