>> i've had crazy dreams before.
actually, most of my dreams are probably what you could call 'crazy' insofar as there's almost always a forgettable collection of random visual and emotional sampling which, all stitched together in some analytical form, might (emphasis on might) reveal an abstract connection to a real concern or perception in my life. but this particular one was puzzling...
i awoke at 6:25 this morning after an unusual 7 hour straight thru sleep - no bathroom call, no tossing, no turning - completely refreshed and convinced that the solution to a major problem the world was facing could be handled best by adding 5 days to the calendar year in december. as radical a thought as that might be, i fastened onto the concept that enough time to prepare would allow the entire global community to come to grips - in much the same way as we all accomodate daylight savings time - with the challenge.
'enough time to prepare' suggested to me that a world-wide awareness campaign utilizing a provocative slogan just might do the trick. i fastened upon
THIRTY SIX IN THIRTY SIX
if, in fact we merely added five days to the month of December in the year 2036, all would be right. the actual mechanics of such a radical thought were actually fun to contemplate. perhaps not exactly a 'holiday' but rather more like the 'leap year' adding a day to the month of february, this would be a five day extension: December 32, 33, 34, 35 and 36. at which point the normal calendar would resume and the following Decembers would have their usual allotment of just 31 days.
families could take vacations, industries could re-tool. yes, i thought upon waking, this could work. but wait...what IS the problem that this is solving? what major catastrophe is being avoided by this action? granted, given some cataclysmic danger, the human race MIGHT be capable of this kind of cooperation - but now that i had determined the means for achieving the resolution, what exactly was the problem?
aha...
i just need a couple of days to catch up with shit. how about you?
