I love you.
I accept you as you are.
Despite the many ways you could improve, and have not improved, and probably never will improve, I love you.
That’s the kind of person I am.
I’m the person who loves you, despite your faults.
I’m the person who accepts you, defects and all.
I know I’m not perfect. No one is. I know you love me despite my imperfections just as I love you despite your imperfections, flaws, defects, limitations, weaknesses, failings, faults, and foibles.
I see past all of those things. I see the real you: the person I love.
I accept you just exactly as you are.
The fact that you ought to be different does not matter. Not that much, anyway. Certainly not enough to keep me from loving you completely.
I accept the fact that you probably won’t change. I accept that no matter how many times and how lovingly I ask you to behave differently, you won’t. I don’t know if the reason you don’t change is a lack of commitment or dedication or ability. It doesn’t matter. I’ll accept whatever the reason might be and I’ll continue to love you.
Just as you are.
Forever.
Because that’s the kind of person that I am.
This reminds me of the Life Lesson from the movie The Joy Luck Club (1993):
"When someone loves you, they see the best in you."

Of course seeing the best in a person, seeing them in a kind light, also will make you love them even more 🤗
