My memory is failing.
Nobody notices it because it’s falling from a ridiculously high level, but I notice it.
Luckily, it amuses me. At least for now.
A memory failure
Here’s an example.
What was the starting lineup of the 1952 Brooklyn Dodgers?
Without reference to the internet, my answers were:
C: Roy Campanella; 1B: Gil Hodges; 2B: Billy Cox; SS: Peewee Reese; 3B: Jackie Robinson; LF: Carl Furrilo; CF: Duke Snyder; RF: ???
Fuck! Who played Right Field for the Dodgers?
Hank Bauer was Right Fielder for the Yankees, but who for the Dodgers.
Well, the internet knows the answer.
And holy shit! My memory sucks.
If was Andy Pafko. How could I forget Andy Pafko?
And wait a minute. Pafko played Left Field, not Right. It was Furillo in Right. He played a few games in Left and Center but was Right Fielder almost always.
And Billy Cox played 3rd Base, not 2nd. It was Jackie Robinson who played 2nd. (Although he played 2,000 innings at 3rd.)
Shit! My memory.
